What happens on a Relaxing Yoga Retreat?

A retreat is when you press life’s “pause button”. It allows time for yourself, time to let go of responsibilities, time to let go of stress, to relax completely. There will be a choice of asana (postures) stretching, Pranayama (breathing), visualisation, meditation, laughter, walking, fun, relaxation, silence, stillness and inner peace – a balance of all that life can be.

You decide what you do with your time on these weekends. You can join in the sessions, sleep, walk, lay in the bath, read or do absolutely nothing—anything that feels right for you. If you’ve never practiced Yoga before there may be postures that you won’t want / be able to try but that’s fine. In Yoga everyone works at their own level. There are sessions of fun and laughter to encourage release of tension, also times of calm silence to allow you to go within.

St Nonís Retreat Centre is situated on the Pembrokeshire coastal path near St Davidís. It is well worth the journey. The walks along the coast are spectacular; a small beach is a 20min walk. This yoga and mindfulness weekend is an opportunity to let go of stress and deep seated tension. The asanas (postures) will encourage release of tension in the body, taking your practice as far as you feel is right for you.  The pranayama (breathing) will release tension and expand your breath. The mindfulness activities will bring us into the moment and allow our right brain creativeness to operate. We will have times of light hearted laughter and fun mixed with times of meditation and silence to facilitate relaxation and release of tension.

Walking in Arillas

 

Arillas is an ideal place to practice yoga. It is a quiet village in a valley with headlands either side, that provide a variety of lovely walks with amazing views. We will be staying in The Bardis Hotel http://www.bardis-hotel.com/ A few minutes’ walk to the beach.

The Yoga and meditation will be suitable for beginners and more experienced practitioners

The walks, while not long will have some hills to climb. There will also be laughter yoga to de-stress and relax the body, bringing fun and joy. There will be times of silence and time to be still. The workshops will bring us together as a group to learn more about ourselves in a light, loving way. A real holiday for your mind body and spirit.
